2 September 2026 | Messe Zürich | Free entry | 80+ sessions

Heading to AWS Summit Zurich this September? The 2026 agenda focuses on where enterprise cloud is heading next: agentic AI, data sovereignty, security, serverless, platform engineering and developer productivity.

For technology leaders, architects and engineering teams, the Summit is a good opportunity to see what is becoming relevant, hear how Swiss companies are applying it, and speak directly with AWS experts.

There is also a business side worth exploring: AI PoC funding, AWS cost optimisation, partner pricing and migration incentives can make the Summit valuable well beyond the sessions.

This guide covers what to focus on, which formats are worth your time, and the practical details you need for the day.

The three themes to watch at AWS Summit Zurich 2026

We recommend building your agenda around these three areas.

1. Agentic AI is moving from demos to enterprise architecture

AWS is putting AI agents at the centre of this year's keynote. Expect plenty of discussion around building, deploying and scaling agents. The more interesting question is how enterprises will actually govern and operate them.

Look for sessions covering Amazon Bedrock, agent orchestration, AI governance, security and production deployment.

2. Data sovereignty is becoming an architecture decision

For Swiss organisations, data residency and sovereignty are no longer a legal footnote. The AWS Europe (Zurich) Region keeps expanding its service portfolio, while European sovereignty requirements continue to gain weight.

If you work in finance, healthcare, government or another regulated industry, prioritise sessions on data residency, security, compliance and sovereign cloud architectures.

3. Developer productivity is becoming a platform problem

Serverless, platform engineering and AI-assisted development are changing how engineering teams build and operate software.

Look for 300 and 400-level sessions, Code Talks and Chalk Talks if you want technical depth rather than product introductions.

Which sessions should you actually attend?

AWS has more than 80 sessions, so do not try to see everything.

Prioritise customer stories, 300 and 400-level sessions, Chalk Talks and workshops over generic 100-level product introductions.

The agenda is still being finalised, so use the official AWS session catalogue and the AWS Events app to build your calendar.

Our shortlist:

  • Keynote, 10:00 to 11:00: The clearest signal on where AWS is taking AI and cloud.
  • Agentic AI and Amazon Bedrock sessions: Especially relevant if you already experiment with AI and want to move beyond proofs of concept.
  • Security and data sovereignty sessions: Particularly useful for Swiss enterprises and regulated industries.
  • 300 and 400-level sessions: The best choice if you already run AWS in production.
  • Chalk Talks: High value if you have a real architecture problem to discuss with an AWS expert.
  • Workshops: Book early. They are hands-on and capacity is limited.
  • Customer sessions: Look for companies such as Pictet and Nexthink. Real implementation stories are usually more useful than another service overview.

Do not skip the expo

The expo is worth more than a quick walk between sessions. The main areas include:

  • GenAI Hub: Hands-on AI demos
  • AWS for Industries: Sector-specific use cases
  • Developer Community Zone: AWS Heroes, user groups and builders
  • StartUp Zone: Startups, investors and technical resources
  • Student Zone: Students and graduates

The Summit agenda in practice

  • 08:00: Arrive, collect your badge and get familiar with the venue.
  • 09:00: Take an early breakout session or walk the expo hall.
  • 10:00: Keynote.
  • 11:00 to 17:00: Alternate between priority sessions, workshops and the expo.
  • 17:00: Stay for the networking reception. This is often where the most useful conversations happen.

Download the AWS Events app before you arrive. It gives you personalised session recommendations, reminders and venue navigation.

What is new at AWS Summit Zurich in 2026?

The biggest practical change is the venue.

After two years at Halle 550 in Zürich-Oerlikon, AWS Summit Zurich moves to Messe Zürich, with seven halls across four levels and 16 meeting rooms.

That means more content, and also more walking.

Getting to Messe Zürich

  • Tram: Lines 2 and 7 to "Zürich, Messe/Hallenstadion"
  • Train: Zürich Oerlikon station is a short walk or one tram stop away
  • Plane: Zürich Airport is reachable by public transport in minutes
  • Car: Access via the A1 motorway. On-site parking is available for a fee and is not covered by AWS
  • Food: Included with your free registration
  • Dress code: None. Expect everything from suits to hoodies
  • Minimum age: 18
  • Badge: Bring your registration QR code and government-issued photo ID

See the official AWS Summit Zurich FAQ for the latest travel and registration information.

Learn about available AWS discounts and funding

There is another reason to attend beyond the sessions.

If your company already spends significantly on AWS, the Summit is a convenient place to ask one question: are we getting everything we can out of our existing AWS spend?

Depending on your situation, the answer can involve AI PoC funding of up to USD 75K, AWS migration funding, partner pricing through the AWS Solution Provider Program and other AWS programmes.

These conversations are particularly relevant for CIOs, CTOs, CFOs, FinOps leads and infrastructure teams.
